Basketball
Established in 1991, the Perth Wildcats play 15 home games a season, to a full house of 7,500 roaring fans.

Football
Night football games at the Subiaco football ground are a highlight of the Perth football calendar. Perth's two AFL teams, the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers, fight for AFL premiership points throughout the season, whether it be a Friday or Saturday night.

Cricket
The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) ground is home to many international, national and local cricketing fixtures. The Western Warriors also play their home games at the WACA.

Harness Racing
Harness racing was first seen within the City when the WACA became its premier venue in 1913. During the midst of the Great Depression of the 1930's, mosquito ridden swamp land within the environs of the City, were reclaimed and became the sports' present day home - Gloucester Park.

Hockey WA
Hockey in Western Australia has arguably the best club competition in the world, with a perfect climate and some of the world's best facilities. The Australian Institute of Sport Hockey is based in Perth and attracts the most talented players in the country, boosting the top club competition. The Perth Hockey Stadium had the first Synthetic surface in the Southern Hemisphere, laid in 1979. Water Activities
Flowing through the Darling Ranges east of Perth, the Swan River is a sparkling water playground on the City's doorstep. Long sunny days and tranquil waters are perfect for sailing, fishing, windsurfing and skiing.

The Royal Perth Yacht Club offers offshore yachting, and its social and racing calendars are packed with high profile events. Reciprocal Membership Rights have been arranged for members of the San Diego and Royal Perth Yacht Clubs.

Almost 500,000 people gather annually on the City's foreshore to revel in the fireworks and accompanying soundtrack of Lotto Skyworks - Perth's very own pirotechnic spectacular.

The Barrack Street jetty, just a few minutes walk from the CBD, is ideal for a relaxing afternoon ale and fisherman's basket.
